Intel Metro Notebook: LL Cool Laptop

While probably aimed at the laydeez, Intel's new concept notebook's name, the Metro, hints at a little cross marketing for more enlightened males.... It works SideShow style so you can read mail, calendars and the like when the main box is switched off, and as it is e-ink, it draws no power and can be read in daylight.

Metro

While probably aimed at the laydeez, the name of Intel's new concept notebook, the Metro, hints at a little cross marketing for more enlightened males. I certainly want one, but then I already carry a Gentlemen's Handbag.

The Metro has all the usuals, WiFi, WiMax, Bluetooth, Core 2 Duo, but also sports an e-ink display in it's leather case. It works SideShow style so you can read mail, calendars and the like when the main box is switched off, and as it is e-ink, it draws no power and can be read in daylight. That leather sleeve also doubles as a splash pad to charge your other mobile gear.

This is bound to be a mugger-magnet, though. While the strap is convenient and kind of cool looking, There's no way this thing will stay on your shoulder too long if you take a trip on the Metro (sorry).

If this ever goes on sale, expected it in any color you like, so long as it's pastel.
