Nerd gadget store ThinkGeek just added a new toy to their lineup. The Intelliscanner Mini is the perfect accessory for any OCD suffering collector. It does exactly what you'd think, scanning barcodes of anything you put in front of it. It's key chain sized, and will store 150 codes, so you can go to your friends' houses (if you have any friends) and scan their stuff too.
The clincher is the software that ships with the device. Applications for managing comicbook collection, books and CDs are expected, but it also has grocery manager. Thinkgeek says that, having scanned the contents of your kitchen, you can consult the database and find out what you have and what you need to buy. This thing is 300 bucks, though, so you might be tempted to just go look in the refridgerator.
