Iwata Promises Increased Wii Production

Of all the ways a company could possibly miscalculate, underestimating demand is somewhat of a happy problem, and one that Nintendo President Satoru Iwata admits his company had.

We must do our best to fix this abnormal lack of stock. We have not been able to properly foresee demand.

Iwata says that Nintendo will, indeed, be stepping up Wii production, but wouldn't say how many units are being produced at the moment, and said it was "too soon" to say by how much that mystery number would be increased. This is really just reiterating what we knew yesterday, that Nintendo is serious about putting Wiis into the hands of people who want them.
