The Dynasty Warriors series is all about killing wave after wave of screen-filling enemies, and its hop to the diminutive DS isn't changing that. There will be fewer enemies onscreen in Dynasty Warriors DS: Fighter's Battle, and they'll be a lot cuter than their big-console cousins, but they'll still need killin', just the same.

In Dynasty Warriors DS: Fighter's Battle, players use a "Battle Deck" to select up to seven of the original Dynasty Warriors characters to serve as officers to defend their bases. Then, using the "Obstacle Roulette System," they can select tactics or spell cards from their Battle Decks and wage war. Other than that, expect to mash the B button a lot as you hack and slash your way through the best fighters China has to offer.

Spencer at Siliconera took a crack at the Japanese version of the game and wasn't too sold on it. From what he says, it sounds somewhat like the Chronicles of the Sword mode in Soul Calibur III, with you overtaking bases and defeating generals. Fighter's Battle comes out here in July, but I'm not exactly rushing out to place my preorder.
