Financed by the Nazi government as a propaganda piece, Der Schneeman ("The Snowman") was Hitler's answer to the popular cartoons of Walt Disney... which were very popular with Germans until World War II broke out. It's actually very light on Nazi themes and the animation is filled with small flourishes of genius. Ironically, with the constant anthropomorphizing of trees, flowers, clocks and lunar bodies, the cartoon owes more to that great animating Jew Max Flesicher than Walt Disney.
