Hold off a second on those plans for remodeling the media room. Panasonic has a 42-inch plasma TV with
full high-definition resolution ready to go by the end of the month.
The move is expected to give Panasonic parent company Matsushita, the world's largest maker of plasma displays, another weapon to fight off makers of LCD sets, who have had a much easier time cramming hi-def into reasonably sized TVs.
The new set will sell for around $3,500, and Matsushita plans to stamp out 25,000 a month.
