As much as we complain that parents aren't pulling their share of the weight when it comes to raising their kids, it seems that some of them, at least, are laying down the gaming law. According to a Harris Interactive poll, 54% of kids aged 8-12 and 38% of kids aged 13-18 say their parents set rules about how long they're allowed to game.
Furthermore, 71% of the younger kids said that mom and dad have rules about what kind of games they're allowed to play, though that only held true for 42% of the older group. All this rule-making isn't necessarily achieving its intended goal, however; 90% of the boys and 50% of the girls said they played M-rated games.
