Sony Considering PS3 Model With Larger Hard Disk

Reporting today on Sony's financials, Bloomberg quotes a spokesperson at Sony's Japanese headquarters as saying that the company is considering a PlayStation 3 model with a larger hard drive:

The company is also considering introducing the model with a bigger hard disk, [SCEI spokesperson Satoshi] Fukuoka said, without providing details.

In the wake of announcements that Microsoft will release a more expensive model of Xbox 360 and that Sony will discontinue the lower-price $500 PS3, it seems that with belts tightening all over the game industry, price increases are the new price drops.
