Despite discontinuing the $500, 20 GB model of PlayStation 3 in the US this week, Sony will continue to sell the lower-end version of its game hardware in Japan, at least for the time being:
The 20 GB model has not been launched in Europe, meaning that it is currently only sold in Japan. Since it doesn't seem as if Japanese customers are particularly fond of the 20 GB PlayStation 3, either (that discount store's sign at right shows a 20% price cut from earlier this year), it's likely they might kill it there in due time.
