And Speakeasy says it wants to be the ISP with the best privacy policy too. (We'll see how that holds up under their new corporate overlords...)

To answer some of your concerns, Speakeasy in committed to ensuring your privacy is kept private. We not actively store usage data or content passed over your connection, whether that is Bittorrent or other peer to peer services, FTP, HTTP(S), VoIP, or any other port or service. We do not sell personal or anonymous usage information to other companies. Speakeasy's general policy is that we require a subpoena or court order to turn over information to government agencies.

We want nothing more than for your privacy to be upheld. If such an unfortunate law is passed [mandatory data retention law], we will do what is needed to comply with the law, but until then we have no plans on changing our privacy policy. As our privacy policy is one of the things that makes Speakeasy a special service and sets it apart from other providers, we are working very hard to protect that.
