Swarovski DS Lite Covers. If You Have to Ask what they Cost...

A Rolex might cost the price of a family car, but it will last forever and probably tell the time pretty well.... When luxury brands cross pollenate into other markets they are almost invariably re-branding some generic product (albeit with a little reworking on the visuals).

Bling

Ok, they're cute. But at $600 bucks a pop you have to ask what kind of idiot would buy them.

So many luxury goods are just junk with a label. Price isn't the problem. A Rolex might cost the price of a family car, but it will last forever and probably tell the time pretty well. But would you buy a Rolex phone? I hope not.

When luxury brands cross pollenate into other markets they are almost invariably re-branding some generic product (albeit with a little reworking on the visuals). These branded gadgets are usually worse than anything else but they sell. They sell because some people will buy anything if it has the right label on it.

And so to Swarovski. These things are glass, people. Glass with a little lead added to make them sparkle. They cost so much because the chihuahua-toting style leaders of the world buy them. Please stay away.

There's another trick in there too. The Nintendo World Store in New York is only selling four of the five designs. The Super Mario Bros cover is unavailable. Which will make us want it so much more.
