This spread, originally from a 1982 children's book on futurism called Fact or Fantasy, describes with morbid glee the natural end result of the robotics movement: humanity will be chased like terrified cattle through the fetid underground labyrinth of AM's circuitry-lined bowels.

It is possible that [robots] will develop a sense of identity and be able to reason for themselves. Such computers might disagree with our orders and decide to carry out their own decisions. If this does happen, it could prove very dangerous to us. Allied to robots of superhuman strength, these computers might take over the world and see no place in it for ourselves.

You know, that's a hell of a thing to drop on a kid's lap, inspired by Transformers to learn more about the science of robotics: his parents buy him this flashy book on robots, he opens it with glee and pores over the pages, eager to learn... only to discover that Optimus Prime wants to eat his brain.
