That's the spirit, Panasonic! Eschewing the portable-pointless, power-hungry bells and whistles of Vista in favor of Microsoft's elderly Windows CE operating system, their newest Toughbook tablet has instant-on capability and 14 hours of battery life.
The CF-08 has a 10.4" 1024x768 screen, and can withstand a corner drop from more than a meter up. The essential specs are very "old-school WinCE device", to the point of disappointment: that 312MHz CPU and 128 MB of RAM/ROM isn't any better than the NEC Mobilepros and HP Jornadas of three-plus years ago. It does, however, come with WiFi, Bluetooth and Ethernet.
Crummy specs notwithstanding, Panasonic, please, pretty please, make a UMPC along these lines.
