Yahoo Launches WiFi DAP: Direct Music Downloads

Sansayahoo 1This is the one we have all been waiting for. Unlimited music downloads over Wifi, straight to the device. The service works only with the Sandisk Sansa Connect but from first looks seems to offer a pretty integrated experience. It automatically syncs with your Yahoo Music Jukebox, streams via Launchcast and pulls in photos from Flickr.

Ian Rogers of Yahoo gives an in depth rundown today on the YMusic blog, with some good examples of usage. He listens to

the Launchcast stream and when he hears something he likes, hits download to grab the whole album. Despite all these goodies, he couldn't help a dirty little dig at iPod owners, again calling us all thieves:

The box will cost you around $250 and the service is $12 per month, although there is a Mastercard promotion that brings it down to $6.
