The Berg Sans Nipple (French for "mountain without a top") consists of "the pseudonym-donning Lori Sean Berg -- a debonair Parisian who looks like he might come from Omaha -- and Shane Aspegren, a European looking fellow who is actually an Omaha native who lived in Paris for six years." Together, these two make music that "had everyone from dreadlocked hippies to backward-cap-wearing frat boys to generally stoic hipsters dancing along to its afro-beat inspired percussion, immaculately layered loops, and hypnotizing melodica laden set" at the Bowery Ballroom in March.
The group is about to launch an extended tour (dates below). In the spirit of yesterday's post about the futility of dancing about architecture, here's their music, so you can decide for yourself whether they'll become part of your permanent playlist. Some of it sounds like Mum covering Godspeed! You Black Emporer.
