MP3 blogs do a better job of talking about music than traditional record reviews because they let you hear the music the reviewer is talking about, so you don't have to suffer the indignity of watching someone dance about architecture (to paraphrase Steve Martin either Elvis Costello, Martin Mull, David Breskin, Clara Schumann, David Byrne, or Frank Lloyd Wright).

The below video, which shows The Fall playing "Big New Prinz" as ballet dancers from Michael Clark's company do their thing, has an audio review embedded smack dab in the middle of it. It's an interesting format... not sure whether it'll be the next big concept in music criticism, but it should be.

(Because The Fall are my favorite band of all time, I put another of their videos on the next page... a great one, although it lacks the commentary I'm talking about in this post.)
