Satellite TV is revealed as the best of a sorry bunch in new figures unveiled by the American Customer Satisfaction Index, which found that not only is everyone doing a dreadful job, but they're getting worse as each year passes.
Most satisfactory was EchoStar Communications and DirecTV, which annoy only 33 percent of their subscribers. Trailing at the bottom are the likes of Time Warner, Comcast and Charter, each close to 50 percent, the threshold under the Gadget Lab Index of Consumer Dissatisfaction between "Fuming Discontent" and "Outright Loathing."
With an average hate score of 38 percent, it's the most reviled industry that ACSI tracks. ACSI is candid about the reasons, describing it as the simple result of the patchwork of local monopolies that the providers enjoy.
