Wireless USB is the quiet, unheralded revolution that's coming in home connectivity. The problem is, however, that's we still aren't there yet. The next best thing, however—wireless USB hubs to which we can connect wired USB gadgets—are finally hitting shelves after years of willying around developing the relevant industry standards. Belkin's gone a different route and bridged USB and WiFi, so that you don't even need a host-side dongle.
With five USB ports, a single ethernet port and "special caching techniqes" that make USB-over-IP-and-WiFi work, the Apple TV-resembling hub comes in June for $130, though OSX drivers won't be offered until September.
It'll be interesting to see how latency is affected: a good test will be with MIDI keyboards, where a low ping is far more important than bandwidth.
