Yesterday we reported on a secret press event to be held by Google in London, England. We thought it might be the hotly rumored Google Phone. No such luck: The event was to launch Google Mobile Maps in the UK, Google's interactive map service.
Now the lucky Brits can find a nearby restaurant when they are hungry, or read listings and reviews.
Google services are great, but it's easy to forget how many of them are US specific, especially the mapping features. So, disappointment on Google Phone, but at least somebody gets a happy ending.
