
If you use a Microsoft Windows XP Media Center PC to record television shows to your computer, you may have been puzzled to open your brand new Microsoft Zune to find that it will not play those recordings. Thankfully, a hack has emerged (registration required to download) that adds support for a number of audio, video, and image files, including the DVR-MS format used by Media Center to record TV.
The hack's description points out that it adds AAC support to the Zune, but the Zune has always supported AAC, so I'm a bit confused about that claim. However, the hack also seems to add support for some other semi-useful formats aside from DVR-MS:
