One reason Apple switched to Intel was the was that the G5 chip was too hot and power hungry to squeeze inside a notebook. It seems that the MacBook didn't get the memo.
A German owner left his MacBook alone while watching Scary Movie on DVD (a wise idea) and the computer overheated so badly that the case melted. Apparently Apple are sending out a replacement, but it's starting to get a little scary toting any kind of laptop around, what with this and all the exploding batteries.
