The internet was buzzing with rumors that a new MacBook lineup would be released today, with speculation fueled by Steve Jobs' announcement of LED backlit displays this year.
It looks like all we have is a processor speed increase: the basic model jumps from 1.83Ghz to 2.0Ghz and the top end model moves up to 2.16Ghz. No new screens.
The store is currently down so I'm not sure if the 200GB hard drive option is a step up, or if the processors are using the new Santa Rosa chips. Expect an update soon.
Prices remain the same, with the entry level Macbook costing $1100.
UPDATE: The MacBook still has the 667Mhz frontside bus, which indicates it's not Santa Rosa, but it's a yes on the hard drives being bigger. All MacBooks now come with 1GB RAM; the low end model used to ship with 512MB.
