On Monday I waxed depressive about the cyclonic destruction of Greensburg, Kansas—where meteorite hunter Steve Arnold plies his trade. One of the effects of the F-5 twister that destroyed almost all of the town was the disappearance of a half-ton pallasite meteorite—the museum that used to house it was flattened, and the rock was AWOL.
But now, good news. The rock is back.
The meteorite, and the Big Well where you could see it, were Greensburg only roadside attraction to speak of. So this is small-scale good news.
