Sinar, the high-end camera maker known for its medium- and large-format systems,
has announced a new model with a removable image sensor. The medium-format Hy6 will boast the usual array of super-premium features, plus an 56x56mm image sensor that can easily be removed.
The idea is that as technology improves, you can upgrade your camera rather than junk it, a pleasing but of anti-obsolescence insurance when you're about to drop more than $30,000 on a camera. Wouldn't be such a bad idea for the SLR market, come to think of it.
