Square Enix announced today that their sci-fi RPG series Star Ocean would be the next of the company's franchises to get the remake treatment. Square will release remade versions of the first two games in the series, titled Star Ocean 1: The First Departure and Star Ocean 2: The Second Evolution, for the PSP.
Square only showed off images of Star Ocean 1 (right), but said that Star Ocean 2 would feature all new character designs, new playable characters, fully voiced dialogue, and movies courtesy Production IG.
The company also announced that Star Ocean 4 is in development for "a next-generation console" but did not reveal what console that is or when the game would be released. Or even a logo, actually. Just the fact that they're making it.
