We and other have mentioned before that more megapixels in a camera isn't necessarily a good thing, especially if the image sensor stays tha same size or shrinks, but camera makers continue to push the numbers. The latest is contract manufacturer Foxconn, which stamps out digicams for BenQ, Vivitar and others and has just introduced a compact camera with a 12-meagpixel sensor.

Given that the physical size of the image chip is the same petite 1/1.8 inches and that most customers will not use it to make poster-sized prints, it's a safe prediction that the DS-C350 will offer little more than noisy, fuzzy overkill.
