Holy mother of invention, take a look at Sammy's latest patent filing.
Whatever it resembles (OQO top-left, Sidekick top-right, Athena bottom-left, and George Hamilton's sunbed bottom-right) the transformative, vaguely defined design looks like it should make for an interesting, extraordinarily expensive device when it comes into physical existence.
The intriguing thing is that it's a blatant stab at the all-in-one convergence device that gadget design veered away from a while back. Remember that Sammy is also the most enthusiastic manufacturer in the ultramobile PC (UMPC) gang, that platform being a somewhat orthogonal attempt at *not* being everything to all people, instead trying to assert itself as a new class of device. Perhaps the lesson Samsung is learning from its experience there is that it's time to go a bit smaller and sexier.
