Sega announced this morning that they have joined the parade of game publishers and developers licensing Unreal Engine 3 for their next-gen projects. Says Sega of America's president Simon Jeffery:

Sega is pleased to arm our developers with the sophisticated tools contained in Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3. Its versatility and power will help Sega create incredible gaming experiences.

Sega did not elaborate on which games would be powered by UE3, only saying that "several upcoming projects" would use it. Gamasutra points out that Sega has recently announced a variety of Western-oriented new projects including a sequel to Condemned and a new title from Gas Powered Games.
