Naturalistic colors are the most intriguing specification in Sony Ericsson's newest handsets, announced this morning in London. We took a look at the P1 earlier, now it's onto the consumer brethren. The 12.5mm-thick, 3G-capable T650 has a stainless steel finish and an odd green panel that would have been cooler if it were smoked uranium glass. There are "illumination effects on the keypad" which interact with whatever's on the screen. It comes in green and blue.
Hippy themes permeate the release, with "powerful by nature" one of the bullet points and a description of the T650 as a "natural entertainer." The word "nature" is repeated in some variation five times in the release. I'm not complaining, but let's face it, this is just an upgraded T610, right?
Also announced was the S500 (pictured above), a 14mm sliderphone that offers similar "color accents," and the T250, which allegedly brings "simple sophistication" to your manhandbag with its "stylish metal finish" and "premium feel." And let us not forget the 5th-gen P1, covered earlier, which has technical specifications to get mildly excited about.
The other phones have specifications too. You can find them in the press releases, buried somewhere amid hogwash like "phones borne out of their designers' love for the materials found in the natural world." But I'll admit it: the "Mysterious Green" S500i is gorgeous.
