Square Enix capped off their press conference today with a series of videos from their upcoming project The Last Remnant, an RPG set for release simultaneously in the US and Japan on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game, which uses Unreal Engine 3, looks... just okay. I honestly wasn't really blown away by the graphics, although the dynamic battle system looked pretty cool. A bit more on that after the jump.

The battles seemed like they were using an amped-up Active Time Battle system, where the fighting is turn-based and menu-driven, but it goes by really fast and so you have to be totally on all the time. Your troops' morale is shown in the bar at the top of the screen, and you can raise this by doing better in battle or by summoning a giant monster. (The main character summoned a thing called Cyclops in the battle we watched, and it was sufficiently gigantic to send the enemy's morale into the ground.)

Sadly, since Square Enix didn't give us any video to upload and only two screenshots, there's not much more I can really tell you. It was an RPG. You run around, you talk to people, you fight enemies. I doubt it'll be playable at the Party, and I wasn't given any interview time with its creator, soooo... yeah. There you go.
