An interesting new study from Parks Associates on vices found that people tend to view Internet piracy as worse than speeding but not as bad as cheating on taxes. In all, 66 percent of respondants thought that it was wrong to download unauthorized copies of music and video from the Internet. But that number gets more interesting as you delve into it further. While 75 percent of respondants over the age of 45 thought Internet piracy was wrong, only 50 percent of those who were 18-25 did. Furthermore, when asked if it's wrong to copy music and videos from family and friends, fewer than half (47 percent) agreed that it is. In other words: most people think it's wrong to get a pirated movie from a stranger, but it's cool if it's from your buddy. Puzzling. We are a conflicted culture.
