The just released Time 100, a list in which world icons (including one of our own) get the buff-up treatment by their celebrity fans, offers some choice quotes from the ranks of the big shots...
Google CEO Eric Schmidt on Sequoia Capital’s Michael Moritz (pictured right):
“Though he is spare with words, when he does speak he is comfortable voicing bold opinions that cut against the grain. I know!”
Melinda Gates (wife of Bill Gates) on Warren Buffett:
“One day spent in Warren's company is worth a semester of business school.”
Mark Cuban (inadvertently channeling his thoughts on his beleaguered Mavericks) on Richard Branson:
“[Business is] a playground where he can live out every dream and idea as if engaged in a sport, one where winning is creating a business that others thought impossible.”
Unfortunately, after perusing all 100 entries, it’s clear that the goal was to give a glossy sheen to existing movers and shakers rather than provide real insight into these characters. On the other hand, that might expecting too much from a list that also gives voice to Justin Timberlake, Roseanne Barr, Osama Bin Laden, and American Idol's Simon Fuller.
