Cycling is fun, fast and good for you. What it's not normally good for is transporting goods or people (unless you go at it Chinese-style and just pile the whole family onto a two-wheeler). The popular alternative seems to be an SUV, the antithesis of a bike.
Enter the trioBike from Denmark. It's a modular design which hooks together a bike and a pushchair, both usable separately. The bicycle part looks like a pretty sweet ride on it's own, with LEDs embedded in the seat, Shimano Nexus gears (the kind that you can change even when stationary), coaster, disc and parking brakes and cables run internally through the aluminum frame.
The ABS pushchair will hold two children (up to nine years old) and has disc brakes and five point harnesses (that's better than my first car!)
It will also cost more than my first car. At €2,370 ($3190) for the basic two part set, you'll need to be serious about cycling (or planning to set up a delivery service when the kids grow up). The bike alone is €1000 ($1345) and the pushchair €1370 ($1845).
