Sebang's industrial NiMH rack is intended for forklift trucks, industrial robots and military security equipment, but I'm seeing it in the back of my car as a homegrown hybrid hack.

"It features 1/10 of volume and more than six times of weight density compared to exiting liquid Ni-CD or Ni-MH battery and it supports vertical and horizontal arrangements. Adopting safety valve, it is safe from over- or discharge."

On display at Seoul's Korea International Battery and Cell Industry Exhibition 2007, the unit is said to be "hermetic and eco-friendly."
