Verizon plans to offer a single package service comprising video, high-speed internet, television and cellphone services later this year. Rivals AT&T and Comcast are already in partnership with Sprint to provide a wireless service, so this is a natural move in a cut-throat business.
Verizon is also building a fiber network and hopes to have nine million homes using it by the end of this year. By going it alone, Verizon hope to bring their Quad Play offereing to the market before AT&T, claiming that partnerships are harder to bring to market.
