Forbes Asia has released its list of the top forty richest Japanese, and former chairman of Nintendo Hiroshi Yamauchi has skyrocketed from 11th place to third.
Yamauchi's net worth is $4.8 billion. Shares in Nintendo, which he obviously owns a few of, have tripled in value since the beginning of 2006.
Real estate mogul Akira Mori tops the list with a net worth of $5.5 billion. He replaces Korean-Japanese Softbank founder Masayoshi Son, who topped the list last year. Look out, Mori -- Yamauchi's after your crown.
