There's been plenty of speculation and wishful thinking that Microsoft would be dropping the price of the 360, but according to David Hufford, it ain't happening. He told Gamerscoreblog:

Some are getting really spun up about the Bloomberg story and inaccurately reading tea leaves that don’t exist. I spoke to Bloomberg nearly two months ago and we were talking about NPD data that had just been released, and chatting generally about price points of consoles in the market. The comment, which is accurately reported, unfortunately has now been taken way out of context and being reported as if I am signaling a price drop. I was not, I am not.

According to Hufford, 360s and Elites are selling quite well at their current prices, so Microsoft has little incentive to fix what ain't broke. Le sigh...guess I won't be getting an Elite any time soon after all. Just for that, I'm going to use the same pic that Kotaku used, simply because Hufford doesn't like it. Nyaah.
