The PS3 has passed the one million-sold mark in the PAL territories, and SCEE president David Reeves is tickled pink about it. "We did that in nine and a half weeks," he happily told MCV. Reeves was similarly pleased about sales of Sony's first-party software, with about 600,000 units of Resistance: Fall of Man and 500,000 units of Motorstorm being sold. Reeves admits there's been a bit of a software lull lately, but not to worry--the "big bangs" will be arriving in September and October.

Reeves was also very positive about the 460,000 players who've registered for the PlayStation Network. He's pretty blase about the competition, too:

I don’t feel we’re competing with Xbox Live in any way. We’re in a different stadium. And with the introduction of Home at Christmas, we’re going in a completely different direction with something very entertaining. We don’t have our eyes on the competition in any way.
