We all do our bit at home to save the environment, but the big changes never happen until large corporations see the potential to make money from green concerns. Back in the 1980s, it was the hole in the ozone layer. Today it's global warming, and we are seeing new environmentally products every week.
Sony is investigating the future with its new Odo concept, a group of devices charged variously by solar power and several dynamo-type options which utilize a 'kinetic engine". They are aimed at teaching children the concepts behind generating energy.
The Spin N' Snap is a basic digital camera which is charged by putting a finger in each hole and spinning it. To save power, there is no LED display. Instead, you get an optical viewfinder.
To view the photos, you'll need the Push POWER Play, a standalone viewing screen which is powered by rolling it across a flat surface, kind of like those old flywheel toy cars.
Last is an external solar array called the Juice Box, which folds into a Nintendo DS-alike box.
