Soul Calibur IV, the recently-announced-hotly-anticipated fourth entry in Namco Bandai's weapons-based fighting game series, will be the first in the franchise to go online. The reason for the move online is that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 already have network infrastructure in place, says the game's director Katsutoshi Sasaki.
They're hoping to have player-created characters playable online as well. More info in the latest Electronic Gaming Monthly, which features a 14-page spread on SCIV.
