Overwhelmed by the insanity that was WWDC? So much Mac info that you feel like your head will explode? Never fear, your geeks at Wired are here. We???ve crunched the data on everything The Jobsman & Co. said at WWDC ???07. Check out these bite-sized tidbits:
- First of all everything you know about Safari? Rethink it. The newest version will run???on Windows. Yes, that thing you see in the sky? That???s a pig flying.
- The new Safari will be available as a public BETA. How do you get it? You don't have to be Walt Mossberg. Just go to apple.com/safari and download it.
Of course Leopard was the reason why there was a conference in the first place. Despite some familiar aspects, it does have a few noteworthy new apps and features:
- Still slated to roll out in October 2007
- iChat will have tabs
- Boot Camp will be integrated into the Leopard BETA
- Time Machine lets you set up a backup with one click, then it automatically backs up your entire hard drive wherever you want.

Oh ho? What???s that Steve? You have something about the iPhone? Oh snap you do! Here are the deets Steve spilled about the brass ring of convergence devices. Warning, you may not like what you find:
- First off the iPhone ships on June 29, but you probably already knew that.
- It will come packaged with a full Safari engine inside the device.
- It???ll be able to run Ajax web apps.
- There's no SDK for the iPhone.
- According to Steve, "You can build custom applications that run on the phone with the look and feel of the iPhone."
Announcing this at the Developer???s Conference is no accident. Steve is counting on developers to write web apps for Safari that run on the iPhone. But Apple is not going to make the iPhone open source. Oh heavens no. These will be iPhone specific webapps???not downloadable apps???that run natively on the device.
Apple announced a return to gaming as well Starting in August you'll be able to waltz into an Apple store and buy copies of Command and Conquer 3, Battlefield 2142, Need for Speed Carbon, and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
Interesting stuff, ladies and gentlemen. Care to weigh in? You???re a smart lot of people. Start pounding out those comments??? we want to know what you or take is on WWDC 2007.
