If a little flute doesn't offer enough jazz, the Maui Pocket Sax might be more your cup of spit. Cut from a stalk of Hawaiian bamboo and dried for six months, each is alleged to be a "unique instrument," tuned to C and offering a two-octave scale.
It also has kooky stylings that wouldn't look amiss in something like Myst. Approximately as big as a recorder (a flute-like instrument used by British schoolchildren to torture one another) the Maui Pocket Sax is $80.
