HP's Compaq 2710p Tablet PC thingie has been approved by the FCC, boosting hopes that it'll hit the market soon. The device, code-named "Optimator," falls somewhere between a full-fledged tablet laptop and an ultraportable in terms of size -- 8.3-by-11.4 inches and 3.6 pounds.
Besides the swiveling tablet screen, it'll have a Core Duo Low Voltage processor, wireless networking up the wazoo and a high-capacity six-cell battery.
