True camera weenies love to debate the merits of CMOS vs. CCD image sensors (and don't get even get them started on Foveon), so we await a whole new round of arguing with Kodak's entry into CMOS camp.

The company announced its first compact digicam based on CMOS chip. The Easyshare C513 captures images at up to 5 megapixels and has a 3x zoom lens and 2.4-inch LCD screen. It'll start selling next month for $100, perhaps reinforcing the notion that CMOS is for the low end of the market.
