LG.Philips is dead serious about flexible displays, and its latest paints a pretty picture in oil and water. By using these old-school media as the display tech instead of OLEDs, which tend to overheat their plastic substrates, LG.Philips thinks it has found a cheap and effective alternative. The resulting display is apparently both full-color and reflective, resembling the cover to a glossy magazine.
