Speaking on Squad XP's podcast, Microsoft's Aaron Greenburg has announced that the company has axed plans for its European showcase, X07.

The X series (X00, X01, you get the idea) has been Microsoft's event for European journalists since 2001,and has traditionally been a pretty big deal, marked with major announcements and A-list titles. According to Greenburg, group product manager for Xbox 360 and Xbox Live:

There is not a real X07 this year but I think that we will figure out some way to talk about 2008 some time at a different event or a different type of programme.

The tinfoil hat folks are going to have a field day with this. And you know, they might just be right.
