Microsoft announced at Comic Con that it will be cutting the price of the 360's HD DVD drive from $199 to $179. Perhaps in recognition of the fact that twenty bucks just ain't that much, you'll also be able to choose five free movies from the following list:

It's via mail order, naturally, and I'm not sure anyone needs to watch The Dukes of Hazzard in high def, but it's a swift way to bolster your HD library. So, all in all, not quite the 360 price drop we were hoping for, but still better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.
