Yesterday, we learned that Microsoft had ditched plans for X07, its annual event for European journalists, but a Microsoft spokesperson has apparently told GamesIndustry that the company does have plans of a sort:

We're looking at doing something here in the UK. It will be from a UK point of view, not from a European point of view.

Ok, so they're doing something, just on a smaller scale. Was it the expense that was the issue, or is Microsoft simply targeting the UK for a specific reason? Whatever the motivation, the new event is due to take place "before Christmas."
