Perhaps taking inspiration from my crack some time ago that "they couldn't give these things away if they stapled 'em to a ham sandwich," Microsoft is throwing a series of free barbecues to promote its don't-get-no-respect Zune media player. Besides chow, the events -- in LA July 12, Chicago July 22 and New York Aug. 4 -- will include live hip-hop from the likes of Common, E-40 and Mos Def.
Go to the Zune site for more details, including how to register for free tickets.
