The latest "according to an online survey" story from Reuters is about workplace timewasters. In short, internet is, by far, the word's favored delivery system for goofing off.
Any competent manager knows that cutting off the internet just moves the problem to the staff room, the water-cooler or the smoking area — such people will stare at the wall sooner than get back to work.
